Paradox of Despair

It abides alone, beyond the edge of warmth and happiness. Slipping silently through the eons, it waits… watches… waits. Suddenly, the darkness cuts the light, time splits in half, and a perfect mirror appears. Look into it and you will see a miracle: you.

This piece of black walnut was cleaved from “Benediction of Soul” while I was working on it. It was then carved and burned, and trimmed with over 10,000 nails and nine coats of tung oil.
