Clinging to a rock in the river, the current pulls at us, fights us, and we grow more and more tired as the water grows stronger. Then a thought: simple but profound, whispered in our ear, “let go”. Immediately the struggle ceases, and we float gently down the river into the unknown. Frightened but awake, the roar of the river fills us with strength.
This is a single piece of white oak, carved and burned, and trimmed with over 20,000 nails and 10 feet of chain. It’s finished with 9 coats of tung oil and sits atop a base of black granite and western red cedar lumbar.
